AmniTec steel hose assemblies are well proven in a wide variety of demanding industries including nuclear, gas, electricity, defence, petrochemical and automotive.

Whether the requirements are for exceptional flexibility, the protection of sensitive cables, an insulated hose, colour coded hose or multi-layer hoses encapsulated in an outer hose. AmniTec can match those needs exactly. Special anti-scuff protection, hand protectors and spring guards are also available.

PURPOSE
AmniTec annular metal hose assemblies are made up of three major parts: metal hose, overbraid and end fittings. Assemblies achieve several objectives in pipework design: to absorb vibration, suppress rigid pipe transmitted noise, accommodate reciprocating and flexing movement and adjust or correct for minor misalignment.

CHARACTERISTICS

HOSE
The steel hose body provides the flexible and pressure tight core of the assembly. The pitch of the hose can be varied to achieve performance requirements in both flexibility and pressure rating

BRAID
The object of the braid is to prevent elongation. The core hose, a braid collar and the braid are welded together to give the 'live length' of assembly. Braid is made of stainless steel wire, woven such that the line pressure produces braid tension which provides radical and axial constraint. Multiple braided assemblies accommodate higher pressures. As braid is stretched in an operating assembly it will not accept axial motion.

END FITTINGS
This is the means by which the custom-designed assembly is attached into the pipework system. Our normal standard is for fixed male or female connectors or swivel female unions up to 2" NB. These are available in both stainless steel and carbon steel dependant upon the media. Our experience is demonstrated by our vast a stock of alternate end fittings for specific purposes from standard to quick release specials.

TESTING
All hose assemblies are rigorously tested prior to despatch to meet United-Flexible's exacting product quality standards.

DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
If requested, sample hose assemblies can be burst pressure tested and leak testing procedures carried out to ensure joint integrity of those hose-to-end fitting connections.
